About the Lecturer:

Luis Javier Capote Pérez is Professor of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law, University of La Laguna, Tenerife. He specialises in civil law, with particular emphasis on: real estate law and land registry, intellectual property law, tourism law (especially timesharing), protection of cultural and historical heritage, family law and consumer protection, gender equality issues and anti-discrimination law. He is the author of more than a hundred scientific publications, including monographs and articles in this field. The main focus of his visit to the University of Gdansk is comparative research on the Blue Economy, the links between maritime law and national policies and environmental management and protection (especially in the context of marine resources).
